About Destiny
Destiny fell in love with yoga during her pursuit of her Bachelors of Communications, Media studies, at Old Dominion University. She couldn’t help but notice the positive impact the practice had on her health. And what started out as just an elective class, later became known as an intricate part of her wellness journey!
After working in the social work field for a couple of years post graduation, her passion for mental health and wellness increased. Thus, inspiring Destiny to become a certified yoga instructor (250 hr) who continues to further her education.
Her mission as a teacher is to use yoga as a means to encourage one's mind body connection for healing, peace, and superpower. During her first year in the social work field, she worked face to face with clients in family shelters as a Case Manager and Housing Specialist. Then year two transitioned to the community outreach and homeless prevention sector of the field. Many of Destiny's clients suffered from mental illness, substance abuse, domestic violence and so much more. Her major observation within these relationships was that in trying circumstances, many of her clients would always seek escape or healing outside of themselves.
A core foundation of Destiny's practice is to encourage people to use the very gift of their bodies and breath for healing.
Destiny creates a safe, inclusive, and immersive experience, when teaching, keeping clients and puppy pals coming back for more!
